Virtual PD Event for ISW Facilitators and Trainers

CARD and BOPPPS are lesson planning models that were created by ISW Program participants to meet the needs of instructors preparing lesson plans.

This PD event will outline how the CARD model was developed during an ISW Network-sponsored FDW at BCIT several years ago and will provide participants with an opportunity to work with the model.

The CARD model focuses on “expressive outcomes” in which learners report what they have learned from a lesson activity (e.g., resolving a case study issue, critiquing a movie clip, expressing an opinion on “x”, and so on). Such learning can be unpredictable.

This PD event will model a Context, an Activity, a period of Reflection, and a time for Debrief/Documentation and will combine small group activity with plenary discussions.

We strongly advise that participants read up and become familiar with the CARD model concepts and terminology in their ISW Handbooks before the session starts.
